Day 1: International arrival flight in Lima (Not included)

Lima respects its past and achieves the perfect harmony between tradition and contemporary architecture. Touring its streets is to admire its churches, archaeological sites and houses with balconies that coexist with modern buildings. In 1991, its Historical Center was declared Cultural Patrimony of Humanity. Lima is the only capital in South America with an ocean view. Its beaches are perfect for surfers and on its boardwalks, the gentle breeze refreshes bike rides and walks. You can also practice paragliding over the Pacific Ocean. In this city with lineage, founded in 1535, the abundance of natural products, the fusion of techniques and cultures, forged in century’s gastronomy with mestizo identity. For the excellent quality and passion of the Peruvian cooks, Lima has been named Gastronomic Capital of Latin America. Lima, love at first sight for those who want to live a unique experience.

In Cusco, every corner tells a story and every story is captivating, mystical and inviting. Imagine walking through streets with names like “Ataúd” [Coffin], Siete Culebras [Seven Serpents] and “Arpías” [Harpies]. In these streets time seems to have stopped, every corner offers a piece of history, and the stones remain alive because they have survived intact. Cusco witnessed the arrival of the Spanish, and yet to this day it conserves an ancestral magic which captivates the thousands of visitors who each year form part of its living history. Cusco, acknowledged as the historic capital of Peru, renowned as the navel of the Earth.

CITY TOUR OF CUSCO

In the afternoon, city tour visiting the Main Square, known in Inca times as Huacaypata or “The Warriors Square”, this was the scene for many key events in Cuzco’s history. The Cathedral, built between 1560 and 1664 with large stones of red granite taken from the Inca Fortress of Sacsayhuaman, the Cathedral is one of the most imposing structures in the city. It also houses one of the most important collections of gold and silver work of the colonial period, elaborately engraved wooden altars and a beautiful collection of oil on canvas paintings from the Escuela Cusqueña. Koricancha and the Santo Domingo Convent.

The Convent was built on the spectacular Koricancha (site of gold), the most important temple dedicated to the worship of the Sun and whose walls were plated with sheets of gold. As well as, the convent was built above a foundation of smoothened stone structures, the most finely crafted in Cusco, taken from the Inca Sanctuary.

Day 3: CUSCO / SACRED VALLEY OF THE INCAS (PRIVATE)

Arrival in Cusco, assistance and transfer to the hotel that is located in the Sacred Valley.

On the way, we will stop at Awanacancha “ Comunidad Manos”, a place where we will be able to see and feed Andean camelids such as llamas and alpacas, and where the locals will show us their traditional weaving and dyeing techniques.

After the tour, you will have lunch at HACIENDA HUAYOCARI. The Hacienda houses the owners private collection of pre-Colombian, Incan and colonial artefacts including an impressive collection of ‘Qeros’ the traditional drinking vessels.

Afterwards, we will get to Ollantaytambo, one of the most monumental architectural complexes of the ancient Inca Empire, one of the few places where the Spanish conquistadors lost a major battle. Very well known for its “andenes” (terraces dug into the slopes of mountains for agricultural purposes), Ollantaytambo was a highly effective fortress that also served as a temple.

Day 4: SACRED VALLEY OF THE INCAS / MACHU PICCHU /CUSCO (PRIVATE)

Transfer from the hotel to the train station

Departure of train from Ollanta to Aguas Calientes (this trip takes 1 hour and 25 minutes approximately).
Arrival in Aguas Calientes. Assistance to your hotel.
EXCURSION TO MACHU PICCHU
You will receive a guided tour of the ruins discovered in 1911 by the explorer Hiram Bingham, this citadel is considered to be one of the most extraordinary examples of landscapes architecture in the world. Located in an enclave on the saddle of a mountain overlooking the deep canyon of the Urubamba River, in an area of lush tropical forest, it served as a place of worship, a site for star-gazing and a private hacienda of the family of the Inca Pachacutec. It consists of two main areas one agricultural, formed mainly by mountains and food stores, and the other urban, which is noted for its sacred zone with its temples,
squares and royal tombs. The stairways and canals carved out of stone are recurrent throughout this remarkable archaeological site.

Day 5: CUSCO / PUERTO MALDONADO (SHARED SERVICES)

At proper time, transfer from the hotel to the airport

Flight from Cusco to Puerto Maldonado (No included)

Arrive into Puerto Maldonado Airport. Enjoy a 45-minute boat ride to Inkaterra Reserva Amazonica jungle lodge.
Delve into the depths of the rainforest with a Trail System walk and take a gentle Twilight River cruise as
nocturnal creatures appear.

Day 6: PUERTO MALDONADO

Glide in a wooden canoe across glassy Lake Sandoval. Appreciate the vastness of the Amazon by scaling the Inkaterra
Canopy Walkway and follow the Anaconda Walk over mysterious wetlands.

Day 7: 2023: PUERTO MALDONADO/ LIMA /VUELO INTERNACIONAL

Set off by boat from your riverside lodge until you arrive at the airport in Puerto Maldonado to take your departure flight
to Lima.
